Nepean Towing provides tow truck service in Ottawa 24 hours a day across the Ottawa-Gatineau area. Whether your vehicle has broken down, been in an accident, needs to be moved from private property, or requires transport across Ontario, call (613) 619-4545 and we dispatch the right truck for the job.
Tow truck service covers more than just moving a broken-down car from point A to point B. It includes ditch recovery, flatbed transport for sensitive vehicles, roadside assistance, and post-accident recovery. We operate a fleet that handles everything from a standard passenger vehicle to a loaded commercial truck. When you call, we ask the right questions to confirm which equipment fits your situation before we send anyone out.
Different situations call for different equipment. Here is a straightforward breakdown of the three main truck types we use and when each one applies.
A tilting platform that the vehicle is driven or winched onto so all four wheels are elevated. Required for AWD and 4WD vehicles, electric vehicles, low-clearance sports cars, collision-damaged vehicles, and any vehicle where drivetrain contact with the road must be avoided.
A hydraulic cradle raises one end of the vehicle while the other axle rolls on the road. Suitable for standard two-wheel-drive passenger vehicles in good mechanical condition when flatbed is not required by the vehicle type.
Built for commercial vehicles, semi trucks, buses, and large equipment that exceed the capacity of standard tow trucks. Higher boom rating, stronger winch, and rigging suited to commercial vehicle attachment points.
When you call, tell us the make, model, year, and drive type of your vehicle and we confirm which truck is coming before it leaves the yard.
The call takes two to three minutes. We ask for your location, the vehicle make and model, the drive configuration if you know it, and a brief description of what happened. We confirm the right truck, give you an honest estimated arrival time based on where the nearest available driver is, and tell you the cost before dispatching. No hidden charges are added at the destination.
Once the driver is en route, they call you a few minutes before arriving so you know exactly when to expect them. If conditions change and the arrival time shifts, you get a call with an update. When the driver arrives, they assess the vehicle, confirm the destination with you, and walk you through what they are doing before connecting to the vehicle.
Our tow truck dispatch covers the full Ottawa-Gatineau area, 24 hours a day. That includes central Ottawa neighbourhoods like the Glebe, Westboro, and Vanier, as well as outer communities including Barrhaven, Orleans, Stittsville, Bells Corners, Riverside South, and the rural areas beyond the Greenbelt. On the Quebec side, we cover the Gatineau area including Aylmer and Hull.
Arrival time varies by location and call volume. We give you an accurate estimated arrival based on where the nearest available truck is at the time you call. Outer areas of the Ottawa-Gatineau area may have a longer wait than central Ottawa depending on traffic and where calls are active. We tell you what is actually true rather than quoting a number designed to sound fast.
A few simple steps make the pickup go faster and keep you safe while you wait.

You do not need to know in advance. Tell us the vehicle make, model, year, and whether it is two-wheel-drive, all-wheel-drive, or four-wheel-drive, and we determine the right truck type before dispatching. If the vehicle has been in a collision or has mechanical damage that affects whether it can roll or steer, describe that too. We ask the questions that matter and send the appropriate equipment based on your answers.
Yes. Our drivers can carry a passenger in the cab. Let us know when you call if you plan to ride along so the driver expects it. If you have children or pets with you, mention that as well. You cannot ride in the vehicle being towed on the flatbed deck. If you have more passengers than the cab can accommodate, you will need alternate transport to the destination.
Give us whatever you can see. A street name, a nearby business name, an intersection, a highway exit number, or a postal code are all useful. If you have a smartphone, your maps app will show your coordinates or a nearby address even without an active data connection in some cases. Share your location pin if you can. If you are on a highway, look for kilometre markers on the side of the road. The more detail you give, the faster we locate you.
Yes. We accept credit card payment. We give you the cost before dispatching, and payment is collected at the time of service. If your vehicle is being towed as part of an insurance claim where the insurer is paying directly, let us know when you call and we handle the billing accordingly. Cash is also accepted.
You choose the destination. We tow your vehicle to whatever address you authorize, whether that is a body shop, a dealership, a mechanic, or your home. We do not have preferred shops we push customers toward. If your insurance company has already named a destination, we go there. If you have not decided yet, we can take the vehicle to a secure location while you figure it out and it can be moved again once you have a destination confirmed.
Call Nepean Towing. We dispatch the right truck across the Ottawa-Gatineau area 24 hours a day with honest arrival times and upfront pricing.
